Fiona Douglas-Hamilton presents “The Financial and Valuation Barriers to Market Transformation – The Path Forward” at the Built Green Conference and Festival, Issaquah

The session examines the barriers to green and high efficiency homes and retrofits achieving market transformation in the PNW through the findings of a series of residential green valuation roundtables SEEC conducted across cities in WA and ID Spring 2011.  By examining the barriers, the presenter seeks to highlight the opportunities among and between the different industry groups for consensus based solutions.

As a result of the findings from the roundtables, the session challenges some of the current thinking around how green and energy efficient homes/retrofits should be promoted, identified, measured, financed and valued.  Successful examples of new financial products as well as construction and energy remodels that have gone beyond “premium” thinking for green will be highlighted.
